Our publishing services are divided into four phases. We strategically offer them this way because you may need some or all of our services to publish your book project/s. As agreed up front, you can elect to have any phase done elsewhere. ZLP does not sale your printed books to you wholesale. In fact, once your books have been printed they are 100% yours to market as you choose. It is a practice that separates our services from other self-publishing companies. An acceptable protocol for payment is 50% down, and balance due upon completion. The only exception is with phase 4. Phase 4 must be paid in full prior to print. No exceptions will be granted to this policy. The following information should help clarify our self-publishing process. Should additional information be required, consider investing in a Needs Analysis for an investment fee of $125 per hour, or fraction thereof. Phase 1 involves identifying the needs of your text: ü Does your handwritten manuscript need to be typed? ü Does your typed manuscript need editing? ü Do you require the assistance of a ghostwriter? ü Do you have need of a transcriber for your CD's, DVD's, Cassettes or VHS? Your answer/s to the above questions will dictate the costs involved. Most projects are reviewed and charged as a custom order with all four phases taken into consideration. However, for general editing services, you can expect to pay from the following scale: ü Light is $6.00 per page Light editing includes review of the following: flow, consistency, content, style, punctuation, spelling and grammar check. ü Moderate is $7.50 per page Moderate editing includes all of the above in addition to some slight rewording and structure changes. ü Heavy is $9.00 per page Heavy editing includes the above in addition to more in-depth editing, the development of flow, consistency, and overall structure changes. ü Ghostwriting fees start at $5,000 up to $10,000. A Needs Analysis is required for a customized plan. ü Transcription fees are $250 per CD, DVD or Cassette. (60 minute maximum; $25 for every 15 minutes thereafter) Upon our own discretion exceptions are made regarding your manuscript. It is recommended that you consider a Needs Analysis to determine the best approach for your publishing project. Phase 2 Part A: Layout and design of your text. At this point your manuscript really starts to take shape. It’s typeset and prepared for press. The layout and design is done according to your request, or to our discretion, which ever applies. It is prepared according to your selected trim size. A final version will be forwarded to you for review and approval. The fees for this phase range from $400 - $650.00, depending upon the design and layout detail involved. Phase 2 Part B: Administrative & Filing Fees If needed, we will file for your Copyright, ISBN, Barcode, and Library of Congress. Admin fees are $200 and filing fees are $105 Phase 3 involves the layout and design of your cover. Unless you specifically dictate otherwise, the artwork for your cover will be designed with a four-color process in mind. Meaning, it will be in full color. You will be asked to give your vision for the cover. Several treatments will be made for you to select from. Upon making a decision, that cover will be perfected to your liking. Our fees for graphic design work range from $600 - $1500.00, depending upon the depth and detail of the work involved; as well as any licensing required. Phase 4 involves the printing of your books. Printing services are provided and quoted one project at a time, and are good for 30 days. Once the 30 day time frame has expired, a new quote will be necessary. Printing costs are determined by the following factors: 5.5 x 8.5, 6 x 9, etc… 500, 750, 1000, 1500, 3000, etc… 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 144,160, 176, 192, etc...
